Note:

1. If parents are unable to allow the KG in which their child has been admitted to scan the QR code on the e-RC/AP during the Centralised Registration Dates, the KG concerned may not be able to complete registration for their child.  Hence, parents are required to submit application to EDB within the designated period.

2. If a child is admitted after the Centralised Registration Dates, his/her parent is still required to submit the e-RC/AP for registration.  If the parent intends to change school for his/her child after registration with a KG, he/she is required to complete the de-registration with the KG with which he/she has registered by scanning the QR code on the e-RC/AP.  Upon de-registration, the KG concerned will no longer reserve the place for the child.  Normally, the registration fee paid to the KG with which the parent has registered will not be refunded.

  • K1：at least 2 years and 8 months old
  • K2：at least 3 years and 8 months old

  1. Date: Application forms can be submitted throughout the whole year without time limit, interviews will be arranged according to the year of enrollment.
  2. Method: Personal or by mail (enough stamp fee is required)
  3. Submit the application form with the following documents:
  • Copy of Birth certificate
  • Proof of right of abode in Hong Kong (for those not born in Hong Kong), such as a One-Way Permit or a Certificate of Entitlement to the Right of Abode in Hong Kong
  • A copy of the student’s injection record
  • Completed application form with a recent photo attached

     4. Application Fee of HK$40  (application submitted by mail, please pay by cheque, payable to:  St. James Lutheran Kindergarten). Please do not mail cash, the registration fee is non-refundable.

  1. Under the Free Quality Kindergarten Education policy scheme, every child needs to apply for a“Registration Certificate for Kindergarten Admission” as the document for registration for 2027/2028 school year.
  2. Parents are required to apply for the “2027/2028 Registration Certificate for Kindergarten Admission” (hereafter referred to as “2027/2028 RC”) to EDB from Sept to Nov 2026. The details for applying “2027/2028 RC” is available at the EDB’s website.

Remarks：Our school gives priority to applicants’ family needs for admission to full-day classes, and interview performance is the second admission criterion. 

Interviews will be arranged for all applicants according to the year of enrollment. Teachers will talk to the children, observe children’s communication skills and cognitive skills through peer interactive games.

Note: If needed, the school can provide translation services for non-Chinese speaking students and parents. Parents and children can also be accompanied by relatives or friends who understand Chinese or English to assist with communication.

We will inform parents of the interview results before 11 December 2026 by mail. 

  • Parents should complete the registration procedures for their child from 7 to 9 January 2027 (Centralised Registration Dates) by submitting the School Admission Letter, presenting the encrypted QR code on the electronic “Registration Certificate for Kindergarten Admission” to the kindergarten and paying the registration fee. For those students admitted after the  (Centralised Registration Dates), the Kindergarten will issue School Admission Letter to parent individually.  Parents should complete the registration procedures for their children and present the encrypted QR code on the electronic “Registration Certificate for Kindergarten Admission” according to the specific date and time designated by the school.
  • Parents should note that the encrypted QR code on the electronic “Registration Certificate for Kindergarten Admission” is required for registration procedures. Parents should apply for the relevant document as soon as possible.
  • Registration Fee – half-day classes HK$970,  whole day classes HK$1,570. The registration fee will be refunded in September if your child is admitted to our school. If parents decide to change to another school, you need to inform to our school with a written letter. Upon the written withdrawal notice, that the school will cancel the registration but the registration fee will not be refunded. Our school will no longer reserve the school place for that child concerned.
